The Door Christian Fellowship Tempe, Arizona

the house church

Some churches tend to be shy in asking for donations to keep the ministry going. We believe in absolute transparency with our finances, understanding that some people question where their money goes when they give it to a church. We believe that having you see our spending will encourage you to give more, and make more of an impact in this world for the gospel. The sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, the Reformation fostered new churches as Protestants built their own places of worship. Yet in every century Christians have met in homes in small groups to supplement their more formal church life.

For the Glory of God and the Good of the Valley

Events are not just gatherings; they're moments to connect and grow in faith as a community of believers. From weekly bible studies to prayer gatherings, you are sure to find an event that can strengthen you in your walk with Jesus. We believe that being deeply integrated into a discipleship community is crucial to following the way of Jesus. Our spiritual growth track helps you get connected into a rich community of believers and provides you with the tools and resources to deepen your relationship with Christ.

Christian History

Leaders usually emerge when the groups meet together for prayer; they are recognized and appointed by members of the church. Evangelism lakes place through personal contact with friends and neighbours. The Chinese house churches are fully self-governing, self-supporting and self-propogaling. Flexible and adaptable to local needs, they enabled Christianity to survive and even prosper through the-dark days of the Cultural Revolution. It is a real joy for us to meet you and to tell you about all the good things God is doing in our church family.

Grow

Join us Sunday January 28th at 10am for a transformative morning centered around the core values of relationships, community, discipleship, and the presence of God . Our gatherings serve as an authentic opportunity to grow meaningful connections within a welcoming community. Here, we come together to hear a practical message, encourage one another, build relationship and experience God together. Come join us as we go on a Kingdom of God Journey where we learn to love God, love others and love our community. Eventually many of these house churches will face the problems of over-organization and rigidity encountered by the established churches.

Meeting Times

The ministry is an adjunct to local church ministries in Maricopa Co. and it does not attempt to keep clients that are referred by churches. We started meeting in July of 2023 because we desired to be part of a community that has a value for experiencing the presence of God while pursuing a hunger for the Word of God. Once enrolled in the SL TC, HCLs receive one free class (a $99 value)! These classes are intended to grow, develop, and equip you for the calling God has on your life. The facilities have on-site parking, security lighting, parking on Mulberry Dr. and parking behind the Healing House just west of the main facility on Mulberry Dr.

Are you interested in starting a house church, but have no idea where to start? Click below to learn how to launch your own house church. Special cases for our out of town visitors are allowed temporary residence at the Healing House. We take teaching kids about God's word and love as important as we do teaching the adults in our church.

EVENTS

Click below to access the materials you can use to baptize members of your house church. We provide access to a variety of musical lessons, songbooks, webinars, and more. We believe that financial giving is a way God has called us to worship Him.

In the United Slates a similar movement in the last two decades has been nurtured by the charismatic renewal (see Worldwide renewal). While most of the participants in this renewal have remained in the Roman Catholic and mainstream Protestant churches, many have left them to form small informal house churches. Their rapid growth is due also to winning new converts from non-religious backgrounds. The various chains have the common linking features noted above as well as leaching on cassette tapes, in magazines and in books. Our Sunday morning services are casual in dress and intentional in relationships.

Building Relationships and Nurturing Connection

Come visit us to get more info about our LifeHouse Children's Ministry. The thousands of house churches around the world vary widely in origin and purpose. It starts with meeting Jesus, and the life of faith is an exhilarating adventure as you plug in to something far beyond yourself.

Come join us as we worship together in a casual atmosphere, intentionally seeking the presence of God together. In England three main branches have originated independently of each other as offshoots of established denominations. They have no central organization and want to be known simply as local churches. Yet each 'chain' of house churches has a distinctive character. They are linked by the itinerant ministry of their leaders, common hymns and conferences, similar behaviour patterns and visits among the 'member' churches. They now number several hundred with about 50,000 members.

This experience will provide an opportunity to worship and experience God together in a transforming way. Come and build with us as we hear practical teaching, engage in worship, community life and experiencing God. Others, however, have left the established denominations to form independent house churches.

It is this latter development, evident since the mid-twentieth century, that can be called 'the house church movement'. Yet its very freedom and flexibility make it susceptible to isolation, divisions and cultic trends led by false prophets. Some house churches demand a total commitment of the members' time and energy, often concentrating on the community's own concerns to the neglect of the wider work of God in the world. The modern house church movement has both captured allegiance and anxiety. Many acclaim it as a rediscovery of New Testament Christianity, while others see in it an escape from the realities of established church life.
